Simplifying My Life

Howdy y’all! I’m not even going to try to catch you all up on everything that’s happened in my life since I last posted nearly three years ago. You don’t need me to tell you it’s been a hell of a time for all of us, and we’re the lucky ones simply because we’re still here.

Instead, I’d like to talk a little bit about what I’ve been up to lately: simplifying my life. For me, that’s looked like stepping away from freelance writing for all of 2022 — for my mental health, but also so I can focus my creative energy on fun writing, like poetry and flash fiction — deleting/deactivating all of my social media accounts, (except Pinterest, because I can’t seem to get logged back into that one to save my life!) finally getting myself on a good anti-anxiety/antidepressant/pain medication, and working two good-old-fashioned, clock in and clock out jobs, with set, Monday through Friday schedules.

I am heartbroken about Roe being overturned, and more than a little scared. But bad news aside, so far, 2022 has been a great year for me, and I’m so thankful. Since I decided to stop freelancing, I’ve completed and submitted two chapbook manuscripts, and I’ve written numerous stand-alone pieces as well. Hopefully, they’ll all be published soon. When that happens, you all will be among the first to know!

In the meantime, check out my photos in the Art for Animals auction. It's a rad charity.

Alrighty, that’s all for now. Thanks for reading. :)
