Hello & Welcome!
Updated: Jul 7, 2022
Let me introduce myself.

Hi there, and thank you for visiting my website!
Going forward, I'll be updating this blog monthly (at least) with links to my most recent work—but you can definitely expect Golden State photos and the occasional restaurant, food item, and/or recipe recommendation as well. (Have you tried Trader Joe's Vegan Banana Bread yet? Incredible.) I'll probably mention my favorite books and podcasts on here from time to time, and I might share links to the work of other writers and artists who I admire.
But for now, here's a little bit more about me, the talented creature who's website you're currently browsing. (Thanks again, by the way!)
Where I Come From & How I Got Here
I was born and raised in the Ozark foothills of southeast Missouri, where my siblings and I were homeschooled from kindergarten through the twelfth grade. When we weren't studying, playing Donkey Kong Country on Super Nintendo, or attending church, we were running around the Mark Twain National Forest with our dogs. I lived on the same gravel road from infancy until age 20, when I moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri—a college town on the Mississippi River.
Since then, I've lived in multiple time zones and traveled to fascinating places (like Bhutan and Ibiza) while on assignment. I left Missouri in August 2017 with less than $400 to my name, hoping to build a life in southern California. To date, it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.
